India's hospitals have never seen anything like this.
The enormous scale of India's struggle with the world's worst coronavirus outbreak was laid bare on Saturday, as it recorded almost one million new cases in just three days. Hospitals are being overwhelmed by a monumental surge of seriously ill patients. Beds and vital equipment are in critically short supply and oxygen - the only hope for those in the advanced stages of the disease - is fast running out.
